Cobblers boss Chris Wilder was a very proud man after his side lifted the Sky Bet League 2 trophy following Saturday’s 2-0 win against Luton.
“It’s been an unbelievable day,” he said.
“The way we played really epitomised everything we are about and we played some fantastic football in a tight game.
“My team were outstanding and the commitment and the work ethic that the players showed was fantastic.
“You are in football a long time and you see a lot of lows so when highs come around you really have to grab hold of them.
“It’s been a special season and this is a special club with a special group of players.
“Today couldn’t have gone any better and I’m made up for the supporters.
“It’s been an unbelievable season and today will go down as a special day in this club’s history.”
