The Cobblers boss on winning the Sky Bet League 2 title
Cobblers boss Chris Wilder was a very proud man as he reflected on Saturday’s draw at Exeter, a result that saw the Cobblers crowned Champions of Sky Bet League 2.
“It’s been an amazing season and I’m just taken aback with the reception,” he said.
“It will probably only sink in when we look back what an amazing season it’s been and we realise what a special group we’ve got.
“We’ve been put through the mill this season but we’ve all stood firm and you work hard for days like this.
“The fans have backed us home and away and they’ve been absolutely vital to everything we’ve achieved.
“It’s been a massive group effort right the way through and everybody should be very proud of what they have done.
“The character of the whole club is fantastic. To win a Championship at any level takes a lot of doing and to do it the way we have is quite remarkable.”
