JASON TAYLOR BEGINS FOUR MATCH BAN AND MISSES MORECAMBE TRIP

18 September 2015

The team news ahead of Morecambe v Northampton Town

Jason Taylor is set to serve a four-match ban following his sending off against Oxford United.

“To lose Jason for four games is damaging but we have to deal with that and get over it,” said boss Chris Wilder.

“We’ve got enough quality in the squad to do that and sometimes when one player is out it opens up an opportunity for somebody else.

“I think Jason was a bit unlucky with the sending off but the referee made the decision and although we understand the circumstances were very unfortunate and we support Jason we just didn’t feel there was enough evidence to get it overturned."

Added to Taylor’s suspension the Cobblers are still without Brendan Moloney, Evan Horwood, Zander Diamond and Ricky Holmes.

“The four players out injured aren’t close to playing on Saturday, they are getting closer every day and they are improving but Saturday is still too soon for them.

“It has been frustrating and I don’t know one professional footballer who has been in this building with me who just wants to sit in the treatment room.

“They are all big players for us, none of them are on the periphery and they are all desperate to be back involved and they are all working extremely hard.

“Darnell Furlong and Shaun Brisley coming in to the side gave us a boost, they both made an impact and hopefully they can keep that going.”
