David Buchanan (hip) could feature at AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night but Ryan Cresswell (knee) is again likely to be missing.
“Ryan won’t be available but there is a possibility that David might be,” said boss Chris Wilder.
“We’ve assessed David over the weekend and we are hoping that he might be available.
“Ryan has been for a scan so we are just waiting for the results on that.
“There is no change on any of the other players, Evan Horwood could maybe do ten or fifteen minutes at the end of a game just to get us through but there is no chance he could do a full 90.
“Zander Diamond wouldn’t have played on Saturday if he was a different character, he wasn’t even half fit but he went out there and did a job. He wasn't afraid of people judging him, he just wanted to help the club and the team.
“That’s the type of character we want at the football club and we feel that mentality is needed as much as the technical side of the game.
“Numbers are really down at the moment and as I said on Saturday last week was one of the most difficult weeks I’ve had at the football club with losing the players that we did.”
