The Cobblers boss on Northampton Town v Dagenham & Redbridge

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder is looking to build on Tuesday night's win over Colchester United for the visit of Dagenham & Redbridge to Sixfields on Saturday.

“Tuesday night was really important for us and I was delighted with the attitude shown by the players,” he said.

“We wanted to get back to winning ways and hopefully we can now take that into Saturday.

“Our start has been okay, we would maybe like to have another three points on the board but we’ve shown some good signs.

“We’ve shown a little bit of inconsistency but I believe that we are on the right track and hopefully that consistency will come in time.

“I’ve got a lot of respect for Wayne Burnett and the job he’s done at Dagenham, he’s done a great job there on a real shoestring budget and he always gets the real maximum from the group he’s working with.

“It’s going to be another tough game and we have to make sure that we are right. We want to play positive front-foot football and get at the opposition.

“There were some encouraging signs on Tuesday but we need to take that on now and roll that into Saturday.”
