Zander Diamond replaced Ryan Cresswell (groin) in the only change to the Cobblers side for the visit of Stevenage while Rod McDonald (knee) returned to the bench.

Brendan Moloney was also named among the substitutes, the right-back included in the matchday 18 for the first time this season after recovering from a knee injury. The Stevenage side included former Cobblers defender Mark Hughes with ex-Sixfields striker Brett Williams on the bench.

As in the previous game the Cobblers were forced into making a change at centre-half due to injury when after just ten minutes Rod McDonald came on for Shaun Brisley.

With just over twenty minutes played the Cobblers had won 8 corners but the game was still goalless.

It was Stevenage though who took the lead, Steven Schumacher’s deflected effort going in off the post.

Chris Whelpdale fired over when he had a chance to double the lead for Teddy Sheringham’s side before Adam Smith did well to deny Tom Conlon.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalised for the Cobblers at the start of the second half, getting the final touch on Sam Hoskins' initial shot.

Substitute Alfie Potter, on for Hoskins, put the Cobblers in front on 62 minutes, tackling the ball in from a Stevenage defender to finish off a flowing counter-attack involving Joel Byrom, Nicky Adams and Calvert-Lewin.

Jesse Joronen saved a shot from Marc Richards following some more good work from Potter before Fraser Franks went close for Stevenage.

Ryan Watson came on for Calvert-Lewin in the Cobblers final change, Brett Williams having just been introduced for the visitors.

Four minutes of injury time were added but there were to be no late scares for the Cobblers as they made it back-to-back home wins and their 6th win in their last 9 games.
