CHRIS WILDER KEEN TO BACK UP 'OUTSTANDING RESULT' AT WYCOMBE

The Cobblers boss ahead of Northampton Town v Hartlepool United

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder previews Saturday’s home game against Hartlepool United.

“It’s a different type of home game for us on Saturday and we have to create our own atmosphere and environment and the players have to start on the front foot and get after the opposition,” he said.

“We have to possibly expect a different type of game to what we’ve had against Leyton Orient and Oxford, it might be a bit more of a battle tactically and it might be more cagey but we have to make sure that whatever problems Hartlepool pose us we overcome and that’s all part of a nine month season in the Football League.

“We feel that the supporters and the team are at one together and that’s vital.

“It was a fantastic achievement by Ronnie Moore to get Hartlepool out of trouble last season but we live in the present and we know that this is going to be a tough game.

“Ronnie will put out a side that is difficult to beat but we have to make sure that we are positive with the ball, we create chances like we did last week and when the opposition do have a spell or in the game or on the counter attack that we are bright and alert to the danger.

“The league is starting to take shape, we are showing signs of consistency and we want to keep going and keep improving. We had an outstanding performance and result last week at Wycombe and we need to back that up again.”
