The Cobblers boss on Northampton Town 2 Hartlepool United 1
Cobblers boss Chris Wilder reflecting on Saturday’s 2-1 home win over Hartlepool United.
“At times we played really well but we took our foot off the gas a bit at 2-0,” he said.
“We were looking for a quick start and we got it, we played quick positive football and when we do that we are a good side.
“I was disappointed with their goal because we were in the ascendancy at the time but a win is a win and we are delighted with the three points.
“We need to make sure that when we are on top we stay switched on defensively and hopefully that’s a lesson learned today.
“The last time we had a game like this, against Dagenham, we came unstuck so I’m delighted to get the win today.
“We are in the middle of a good run, we’ve got another big game coming up next week at Cambridge and we want to keep the run going.”
