CHRIS WILDER - 'BIG AWAY FOLLOWING WILL GIVE US A MASSIVE BOOST'

1 October 2015

The Cobblers boss on Wycombe Wanderers v Northampton Town

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder says that Saturday’s game at Wycombe will be another stern test for his side.

“It’s a big challenge for us, Wycombe have had a fantastic start to the season and in Gareth Ainsworth they have got a manager who I’m sure will manage at a higher level,” he said.

“We can go there and win but we have to work hard because we know that their players work their socks off for their manager.

“It’s a tough period for us, we are building momentum and we will be better.

“We need to pass the ball and control the ball a bit better than we have done in our last two games but we are in the middle of a really tough run.

“To be successful you have to be able to grind out results and we’ve shown in the last couple of games that we can do that.

“As I’ve said before this is a really tough league, a lot of teams in the division have improved and I personally believe that out of the three leagues in the Football League, League 2 is the toughest, most evenly matched division.

“The support that myself, Alan and the players have had from the fans in a difficult time for the football club, has been absolutely first class.

“They have backed myself and the players one hundred per cent, they are good supporters and they want us to do well.

“I always think it’s a good away game for supporters and if we can take a good following I know that will give the players a massive boost.”
