The team news ahead of Northampton Town v Mansfield Town
Joel Byrom and Ryan Cresswell are both set to be available for Saturday’s visit of Mansfield Town.
“Both Joel and Ryan trained on Thursday,” confirmed boss Chris Wilder.
“Ricky Holmes is a week further on and we are hoping that he will be ready sometime around the Yeovil game at the end of the month.
“It was great seeing him involved again with the first team on Saturday and having Ricky back for the Christmas period would be a massive boost for us.
“I feel we have got real genuine competition for places at the minute, but in a good way. We’ve got a tight group, everybody is playing a part and nobody is sulking when they are not starting.
“Marc Richards was touch and go before the game last Saturday with a chest infection and he was struggling at half-time but he did a great job for us.
“Darnell Furlong’s loan is up after Saturday so we will have to look at that but I thought Brendan Moloney was outstanding at the weekend, his performance was incredible especially considering it was the first game he’s played since the end of last season.”
