The Cobblers boss on Northampton Town 2 Yeovil Town 0

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder felt his side came through a 'tough afternoon' during Saturday’s 2-0 home win against Yeovil Town.

“We weren’t at our best but it’s a massive result,” he said.

“To win a game of football at this level is tough and we won the game because we were more clinical than Yeovil in both boxes.

“That was possibly one of the toughest games we’ve had all season, conditions made it difficult but I didn’t think it was a flowing performance.

“We looked a bit flat early on and we lacked a bit of energy and a bit of a spark. Yeovil made it difficult for us and I thought they played the conditions better than we did but the second goal was a really big goal for us.

“The group is focussed and with the FA Cup next week we wanted to get to 40 points today. I want to be top of the league and we won’t shy away from that but we can’t get too far ahead of ourselves.”
