CHRIS WILDER - 'WE NEED TO WORK EVEN HARDER'

19 November 2015

The Cobblers boss ahead of Notts County v Northampton Town

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder says his side are entering a cricual phase of the season as they prepate for this Saturday’s game at Notts County.

“We know that there are big challenges to come and that this is the time where we need to work even harder,” he said.

“We had a fantastic October and we’ve had a great start to November and we want that to continue.

“I believe that the race only really starts in January and we want to put ourselves in a good position from now and over the Christmas period.

“I would imagine that Notts County will expect to push on now, they beat Portsmouth in their last home game and they have got a decent home record.

“We all know that their last game was at Salford in the FA Cup and they can’t hide from that because it was beamed right across the nation.

“I’m sure it has been a long two weeks for their players, they will all be hurting and they will want to put that right against us but with that comes a lot of pressure as well.

“I had a year there as a player and I really enjoyed my time there and they will be expecting to bounce back to League One. They are not a League Two club, they are a talented group and we have to make sure that come Saturday we are ready.

“It’s going to be a big start for us and we are expecting them to come flying out the traps but we want to quieten them down and heap a bit more pressure on them but we will only do that if our attitude is right and our play is good.

“The team is in fantastic form, playing with a lot of confidence and we are picking up some great results.

“There is a great feel about the place amongst the players and there is a real togetherness and desire to go again on Saturday.”
