Cobblers boss Chris Wilder talked about his pride in the club after Saturday’s FA Cup first round win at Coventry.

“You are in football for days like this,” he said.

“I thought we deserved to be ahead at half-time, Coventry came at us in the second half as we knew they would but the resilience and character of the players shone through.

“I’m proud of the club and the 2,500 supporters here backing us were outstanding. I’m sure there were a lot more fans following us from elsewhere and I’m delighted for everybody.

“We’ve got something going on the pitch, we’ve got good players and their mentality and attitude has been spot on.

“It’s a day to remember in the history of this proud football club, this club has over a hundred years of history and surely we can get things resolved.

“The club is the most important thing in all of this and it must continue.”
