Opus Energy named new back of shirt sponsor for next 2 seasons
Northampton Town is delighted to announce that locally-based business energy supplier Opus Energy will be the club's new back of shirt sponsor for the next two years from the start of the 2015/16 season.
Opus Energy employs more than 570 people at its site on Moulton Park in Northampton and has been providing energy to businesses across the UK since 2002. During 2015 the company will be recruiting up to 100 new employees to its site to help maintain its high quality customer service which recently saw it awarded the ‘Putting the Customer First’ accreditation by Customer First UK Ltd. In addition, it was the only company headquartered in Northampton to be recognised by the Sunday Times as one of the UK’s 100 Best Companies to Work For 2015.
Northampton Town Chairman David Cardoza said: "I am delighted and proud that we will be wearing the Opus Energy name on the back of our shirts for the next two years. To be able to team up with a successful, Northampton based company like Opus Energy can only benefit the club. I know a lot of Cobblers supporters work at Opus Energy, and we are looking forward to working closely with it over the next couple of years.
"As we are an expanding football club, Opus Energy has also expanded rapidly over the last few years and this is an ideal time for us to work together for our mutual benefit."
Andy Nash, operations director from Opus Energy added: "As a local employer we’re keen to contribute to our community. We have been based in the town since 2002 and many of our employees are avid Northampton Town fans, so it’s great to be able to support the local team in this way. With up to 100 new recruits this year, we’re sure to have even more staff cheering them on soon!”
