The Cobblers boss on the transfer listed winger
Chris Wilder believes Chris Hackett still has plenty to offer at Football League level.
“We changed our way of playing going into the New Year and the form of Lawson D'Ath and Ricky Holmes has made it difficult for Chris to get into the team," he said.
“Chris hasn’t played a lot of football and again he is at an age where he wants and needs to play.
“He’s a great lad and a great professional and there’s no doubt he will do somebody a job.
“He’s still got a lot to offer, he’s still as fit as a fiddle and I’m sure there will be plenty of takers for Chris.
“Chris and John-Joe are not going to be playing regularly for us and we don’t feel that they are part of the group that is going to take us forward.
“I’ve got to look to the future and I’ve got to back my own judgement to make those decisions."
