Under 18s side lift trophy
Sunday saw the Northampton Town Ladies u18s play Earls Barton u18s in the final of the County Cup.
Both sides began strongly and the Earls Barton keeper was in good form, denying the Cobblers strikers on a number of occasions throughout the game.
Northampton Town took the lead in the 28th minute after a cross was headed home by Isla Fleury for the only goal of the first half.
After half time the Cobblers had two chances to double their lead but Cesca Partridge saw her first effort well saved by the Barton keeper while later she hit the bar. Earls Barton had a chance to equalise with 10 minutes to go when a dangerous free kick was awarded 20 yards out but their effort was well saved by Erica Turner in the Northampton goal.
With 5 minutes left to play, Amy Marshall broke down the right wing before finishing in to the top corner to put the seal on the victory.
