Parents email to praise club

We were delighted to receive the below email from Mr and Mrs Walker after their son Mitchell held his birthday party at the recent York City game. To see how we could do the same for you, please email

Dear Cobblers,

We just wanted to put together a note to say thank you so much for making our son Mitchell's 11th birthday very special last Saturday.  It was an absolutely fantastic day and all the staff have done the club extremely proud.

Special thanks should go to Kevin Rootes for a no holds barred, comprehensive tour of the stadium, with some personal experiences to bring it all to life.  Everyone was extremely welcoming from the chief steward to the control room operatives who sang happy birthday to Mitchell.  We even managed a few words with Chris Wilder before an important match!

We would also like to thank Mark Peacock for organising, arranging for a photo with Clarence and a signed birthday card - this was topped off by the boys escorting the "Kick it Out" banner!

Everyone on the day went beyond the call of duty, including the referee! Jeremy gave a talk on his responsibilities, demo of the ear/mic piece and even gave Mitchell an old can of vanishing spray (as well as his warm up t shirt).  The players then did their bit by winning the match - the most important part of the day!

We were both very moved by the effort everyone went through, the boys are still talking about it almost a week later!

Kind regards

Andrew & Jane Walker
