League 2 top scorer out of action
Northampton Town have been dealt a blow with the news that Marc Richards will be out of action for 6 to 8 weeks.
Richards has suffered a tear in his Achilles tendon, an injury confirmed by a scan this week and now faces a period out of action.
He will be wearing a protective boot to aid the healing process.
"It is a major blow for us," said manager Chris Wilder.
"Any team would feel the absence of not just their top scorer, but the top scorer in the league.
"Marc has been superb for us this season and we will miss him, but we have shown we can get results against the best teams in this league without him and this will give extended opportunities to other players."
