Senior teams and youngsters both make finals
Northampton Town Ladies u18s beat Northampton Spencer 8-0 in the County Cup semi-final on Sunday to reach the final. This will be played at Raunds Town on Sunday 22 March with a noon Kick off.
The u18s took the lead with the first goal coming from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute after a handball from a corner from a Northampton Spencer defender. Emily Cattle converted the penalty and she completed her first half hat trick with two more goals in the 34th and 45th minute with two outstanding long range efforts as Northampton Town went into the break 3-0 up.
In the second half the Cobblers went on to score 5 more goals without reply and move into the final. The goal came from Georgia Tear, Abi Shocklidge and Isla Fleury with player of the match Cattle scoring two more to finish with five in the match and a player of the match performance from central midfield.
The Northampton Town Ladies beat Thrapston 3-1 in the semi final of the League Cup to set up a final with Moulton on May 23rd.
The Cobblers took the lead 25 minutes into the game as right winger Aimee Smith scored a superb 20 yard strike to lift the ball over the Thrapston Keeper. The Cobblers went into the break 2-0 up, the second goal coming from the penalty spot as Aimee smith got brought down by the Thrapston keeper and Daniella Snowdon converted from the spot. The Cobblers went 3-0 up half way through the second half with Daniella Snowdon getting on the scoresheet with her second. Thrapston were awarded a penalty late on to make the final score 3-1.
