CHRIS WILDER AS WINNING HOME RUN COMES TO AN END

17 March 2015

The Cobblers boss on Northampton Town v Carlisle United

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder reflecting on Tuesday night’s home defeat against Carlisle, a loss that saw a run of six successive home wins come to an end.

“It was a below par performance from us tonight,” he said.

“Our standards have been high but tonight it all felt a bit flat on and off the field.

“We didn’t really do anything to get the fans going and we didn’t play with our usual zip. Carlisle were happy to sit deep but we needed to move the ball better and show a bit more quality in the final third.

“Standards have been high but tonight we didn’t do enough to win a game of football.

“It is a missed opportunity but we need to take this defeat on the chin and move on from it quickly."
