Head of Recruitment on his summer brief

Head of Recruitment Martin Foyle says the addition of defender Josh Lelan shows exactly the type of player the club are looking to recruit and develop.

“My brief when I came into the club in January was to look for players who are maybe on the fringe, and who have potential," he said.

“Lawson D’Ath was a player last year who was on trial going from club to club and Chris gave him the opportunity here. He went on to have a great season and Lawson is a shining example for the sort of players we are trying to attract.

“I don’t think the manager has got any qualms about putting young players in if they are good enough and they can hold their own.

“Recruitment is so important and if I can help Alan and Chris by taking the pressure off them a little bit to leave them to concentrate on the first team then that’s only going to be a bonus for them.

“We want young players who are hungry to do well and who can add to the blend of experience we’ve got in the squad.

“We’ve got one or two already in Lawson and now Josh and I’d like to think we will bring in a couple more.”
