Cobblers boss happy after first week of training
Chris Wilder says he is delighted with how the first week of pre-season training has gone.
"I'm really pleased with the condition the players are in," said the Cobblers boss.
"They have looked after themselves really well and we are moving forward. There will be more hard work next week and what I've seen so far is really pleasing.
"We are pleased to have signed Adam Smith. There will be talk about what happened in the past, we understand that, and signing Adam is not a decision we've taken lightly, but we feel he deserves a second chance. Adam needs to get himself going, he is an outstanding young goalkeeper and we are looking to add another keeper to the squad as well.
"Goalkeeper is a vital position to get right, it can make a huge difference to a team and Adam will be an asset to us. Plenty has been said about what's happened, but Adam has been given an opportunity to move on and he needs to take that chance."
