WILDER PLEASED WITH OPENING WORK OUT

6 July 2015

Chris Wilder on Sileby Rangers v Northampton Town and Ivan Toney speculation

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder was happy with the opening pre-season work out for his squad, Sunday’s visit to Sileby Rangers.

“We came through injury free and the game was played in a great spirit in front of a good crowd,” he said.

“We had the majority of the ball and we had some good patterns of play, we need to tighten up on our finishing but we are still only in the early days of pre-season and that will come.

“The basics are there with and without the ball and all the players contributed."

Recent speculation has been linking Ivan Toney with a move away from Sixfields and Wilder said:

“There have been discussions and as we’ve said before Ivan is a very good young player who will attract interest.

“I will know more after speaking to the Chairman but Ivan will be in Brighton with the rest of the squad and he will be involved on Tuesday night."
