Half time penalty shoot out competition expanded
Stanair Services have renewed their sponsorship of an expanded Stanair Cup competition for a further two seasons.
The Stanair Cup is a half time penalty shootout competition at Northampton Town Football Club that gives players aged from 8 to 13 years old from grass roots football teams and primary schools the chance to compete on the biggest stage of their lives. At half time just as the Cobblers players step off the pitch, it’s the turn of the young ones to embrace the hallowed turf of Sixfields as they get to take part in a penalty shoot out competition in front of thousands of fans, cheering them on.
Because of the popularity of the Stanair Cup, the competition is now being expanded to include girls teams in 2015/16.
"We are really grateful to Stanair for their support," said Northampton Town Commercial & Marketing Manager Caroline Lucy.
"The long running partnership between the club and Stanair has given thousands of youngsters the chance to star on the Sixfields pitch in front of the crowd and gives those children memories they will never forget.
"We are delighted that not only will the Stanair Cup continue, but it will be expanded and we are looking forward to another season of creating special memories for children, thanks to Stanair's very generous and loyal support."
