The Cobblers boss on Northampton Town v Derby County

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder is looking forward to Saturday’s pre-season friendly against Derby County at Sixfields, KO 2pm.

“It’s a good test for us and we are looking forward to the challenge, he said.

“I’m sure Derby will be tipped to go well this year and this is a completely different type of test for us than the last three games have been.

“Derby will have a lot of the ball and so there are different aspects that we need to work on.

“There is going to have to be a lot of discipline in our play and a lot of hard work but we’d also like to think that when we do have the ball we can express ourselves and cause them one or two problems.

“The two games we’ve got coming up we are obviously massive underdogs but we still want to go out to try and win.

“I expect my players to go into everything at full tilt and in fairness to them they have done.”
