The Cobblers boss on wanting to add to the squad
Cobblers boss Chris Wilder has revealed he is closing in on signing a second goalkeeper.
“The nucleus of the squad is really good, we’ve made some excellent signings and we are very close on bringing in another goalkeeper,” he said.
“We still need to bring in another centre half, a midfielder and a forward player but there will be players turning out for us in pre-season who we can have a good look at.
“Lawson D’Ath was an absolute find for us last year and there will be players available.
“We’ve still got the time, ideally we would like the 21 players we want to all be in place as soon as possible but any player we look at has got to earn a contract. They’ve got to show me something that makes us better and any deal we do has to be right for the football club.
“The power has flipped back to us now but any deal we do has to fit financially.
“I think we are in a good position and we are just looking to put the finishing touches to a squad that will hopefully go well this year.”
