Squad worked hard during tough week
Cobblers assistant manager Alan Knill said there were plenty of positives to come out of the week spent at the pre-season training camp in Brighton.
“It was an excellent week for us and the new players have all integrated themselves into the squad really well,” he said.
“It was a tough week for the players but now we’ve got an even tougher week ahead with the games against Derby and Birmingham.
“It’s a big step up in opposition and these two games really will tell us exactly where we are in terms of the fitness of the players.
“The games will be a good marker for us and it’ll be a real test for the players against quality opposition.
“We’ve picked up a few knocks in the three games we’ve had so far but not too many and most of the players have got a good number of minutes under their belt.”
