Alan Knill on Northampton Town v Southend United
Cobblers assistant boss Alan Knill reflecting on Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Southend.
“We are delighted with a point and after recent performances it was a real step in the right direction,” he said.
“Everybody contributed and I thought it was a really good performance from front to back.
“Southend are a really good side and I didn’t think we looked too far off them today.
“We had all the things that you need today, commitment, passion and a desire to keep the ball out of our net and put it in the opposition's. Credit to the players for coming back from a goal down, I thought it was a great game and both sides had chances to win it.
“Today has to be the bar, there are still a lot of games to go and we need lots more of these type of performances if we are going to drive this team up the table.”
