Football League Youth Alliance action
Northampton Town's youth team began their Merit Division series of fixtures with a trip to Cambridge United on Saturday.
The Cobblers won the game 1-0 with Dodzi Agbenu on target.
“It was a thoroughly deserved victory,” said Academy manager Trevor Gould.
“It was a very commanding performance, especially in the first half, we played some very good football and the win could have been by a bigger margin.”
