CHRIS WILDER ON NORTHAMPTON TOWN V MORECAMBE

Chris Wilder on Northampton Town v Morecambe

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder reflecting on Saturday’s 2-1 home win against Morecambe.

“You always want to get off to a quick start, especially at home and we carried that on,” he said.

“We were a bit disappointed to only be 1-0 up and then we got done by a long ball.

“The changing room was a bit flat at half-time but I felt we lifted ourselves again in the second half and in the end it was the never say die attitude of the players that got us over the line.

“Zander Diamond came off with a tight hamstring which is disappointing for him but I thought Ben Tozer was excellent when he came on.

“This is a big period for us and we’ve got another big week coming up.

“Our next three games are against teams fighting for their lives and we will need to keep working hard, if not harder, to keep this run going.

“We haven’t got any room for manoeuvre in terms of chasing those above us and unlike the top teams we haven’t got the luxury of being able to lose a couple of games.”
