The views of the Cobblers boss ahead of Mansfield Town v Northampton Town
THIS MATCH IS ALL TICKET. PLEASE DO NOT TRAVEL WITHOUT A TICKET AS YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED.
Cobblers assistant boss Alan Knill previews this Saturday’s trip to Mansfield.
“It will be another really competitive game and first and foremost we will need to compete and if we can do that then we have got players who can hurt them,” he said.
“It’s not really about where the opposition are in the league, it’s about us and making sure that we are right. We know that if we are at our best we are capable of beating anybody in this league.
“We were all disappointed on Tuesday, it didn’t look like we were going to lose the game but we made one mistake and we got punished.
“We are in good form and I think we are playing as well as we have done all season.
“We had a really poor first half of the season and we knew that we would have to do something exceptional in the second half of the season to get anywhere near the top half.
“The run in for us started in January and now we are looking for maximum points from the three games we’ve got left in February.
“The play-offs have to be the aim, a month ago we were looking over our shoulders but the work we’ve done in January means we are now looking up rather than down.”
