NORTH STAND BAR RETURNING FOR MK DONS GAME

23 December 2015

Club working towards a permanent Fans Village

Northampton Town Football Club would like to thank all who supported the addition of the mobile food and drink bars on Saturday. The bars were deemed a success, and will be returning for the Milton Keynes Dons Emirates FA Cup tie on Saturday January 9th.

"My own view, and the feedback we have received from supporters, was that the bars worked well and were a good addition to the matchday experience," said Chairman Kelvin Thomas.

"The matchday experience is very important to us and I would like to thank all supporters for their feedback about these bars, we will take all of that feedback and knowledge into consideration and look to improve even further next time.

"It was something that was arranged at very short notice and we thank Centerplate for their help. I think it showed that with some hard work and positivity we could get something like this done.  I want to see more to do for fans at every game and would have liked the bars here  for the next two league games too but understand the bars are already committed to other events. However, with the success of last Saturday we will be looking at a more permanent solution for next season anyway, and also to try and get the bars to more games for the rest of this season.

"I am pleased that we are able to bring them back for the Milton Keynes game on January 9th, which is shaping up to be a really great occasion.  We are also looking at our licencing situation as the current licence does not allow alcohol sales at half-time which seems strange to me, so we will see what we can do with that as well."

The Cobblers attracted a capacity crowd for the visit of Portsmouth, and as well as the addition of the new bars, the club played host to a record number of hospitality guests thanks to the addition of a marquee to extend the 1897 Suite.

Tickets are selling well for the home games over the upcoming festive period, only limited seating remains in the West Stand for the Accrington Stanley game on Bank Holiday Monday, December 28th, with ticket sales also at advanced level for the Barnet game on Saturday January 2nd. The Milton Keynes Dons visit for an Emirates FA Cup tie on Saturday January 9th, a tie that is expected to sell out.

Tickets for these games are available via www.ntfcdirect.co.uk
