New Chairman - 'Hard work starts now'

New Northampton Town Chairman Kelvin Thomas has been talking about his first week at the club, a week he says has gone really well.

“It’s been really, really positive,” he said in an interview broadcast on Cobblers PlayerHD earlier this week.

“We got a very good reception last Saturday which was enjoyable and that makes all the hard work worthwhile.

“The win helped but as I’ve said before now this is where all the hard work starts.

“The openness and friendliness we’ve had from the staff and supporters has been really encouraging, we’ve come in saying that we don’t want to change too many things but with that everyone has a responsibility to keep doing what they have been doing and maybe even do a little bit more.

“The players have got us to this point but the pressure isn’t off just because the wages and the bills have been paid, we need to keep pushing and we need to keep the intensity up.

“It’s nice being in the top three now but we want to be there at the end of the season.”

A reminder that reduced price tickets apply for Saturday's FA Cup tie with Northwich Victoria, why not take advantage and come and cheer on the Cobblers?!
