Chris Wilder previews Northampton Town v Barnet

Northampton Town boss Chris Wilder is looking forward to another capacity Sixfields crowd as his side attempt start 2016 with a bang against Barnet on Saturday.

"2015 was a great year for us on the pitch,  and if we can replicate that in 2016 we will be delighted,” he said.

“However, football doesn't run from January to December, it is August to May and we have a lot of work to do to achieve anything this season. We are in a great position but we want to build and move forward.

"We can and will play better than we did on Monday, we weren't quite at it against Accrington but we dug it out and secured the points. Credit to Accrington, sometimes the opposition don't let you play and I'm sure Accrington will cause problems to a lot of teams in the second half of the season, so we take the points and move on. I am sure we will play better on Saturday but it is another tough game. We know how good their manager is and how tough Barnet are. The game down there in August was a difficult night for us they scored at vital times and we found it difficult so we will need to be better than we were on Monday.

"To achieve anything we need to keep our losses to a minimum and that was the big disappointment about the Portsmouth game. We look to win every game but if we can't win a game then we need to pick something up. Barnet are dangerous opponents, they won at Oxford, but we have trained well this week and we are looking for reaction in terms of the performance."
