The Cobblers boss on Luton Town 3 Northampton Town 4
Chris Wilder was keen to keep the Cobblers collective feet on the ground as he reflected on Saturday’s 4-3 win at Luton, a result that lifted Northampton Town to the top of the Sky Bet League 2 table.
“It was a great game of football with both teams having a real go,” he said.
“I thought we were outstanding in the first half and we looked in control of the game going in at half-time but I know what John Still is all about I wasn’t surprised with Luton's reaction.
“We came back after going a goal down early on and then we came back again after they got it back to 3-3 and managed to get ourselves over the line.
“We’ve had an outstanding first 21 games, it’s a great effort and we’ve got momentum but we’ve got another big game next week against Portsmouth and we have to keep it going.”
