The Cobblers boss ahead of Luton Town v Northampton Town

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder is under no illusions about how tough Saturday’s trip to Luton will be.

“We know it will be really difficult and this is a really evenly matched game,” he said.

“We’ve sold out the away end so we will have a terrific backing yet again and the atmosphere there is always electric.

“We’ve had a great run over the last couple of months but we’ve achieved nothing yet. We are only in December and we have to keep focussed.

“The assessment of the season will only take place after the last game, in my mind we dodged a bullet last Saturday and we’ve spoken to the players about that this week.

“We went on a fabulous run from January last season and we’ve shown that we can win games but we can also lose games if we’re not right.

“We’ve got a massive period coming up now and there are some fabulous games to look forward to.”
