WILDER - "PLYMOUTH WERE BETTER THAN US"

22 August 2015

The Cobblers boss on Northampton Town v Plymouth Argyle

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder reflecting on Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat to Plymouth.

“Plymouth were better than us today and we didn’t deserve anything from the game,” he said.

“At 0-0 it was a nothing game but we made a mistake and Plymouth capitalised.

“We huffed and puffed after that but we seemed to lose a lot of belief very quickly after going a goal down which was disappointing.

“We didn’t work hard enough to get on the ball and when we did have possession we didn’t show enough patience or composure.

“It was an easy game for Plymouth in the second half, they were stronger than us all over the park and they bossed the game. That was in part down to their good play but also our lack of quality.

“The performance we produced today was totally unlike one we’ve produced so far this season and we’ve got a big week coming up now. We can’t afford to lose three games on the bounce and this is an early season test for us but I’m sure we’ll come through it.”
