Zander Diamond could miss Tuesday night’s game at Barnet after coming off at half-time against Exeter with a tight groin.
“We’re not sure if Zander is going to be right for Barnet,” said boss Chris Wilder.
“We will give him time and as much opportunity as possible but if he doesn’t make it then we are comfortable and confident for Rod McDonald to come in.
“Zander came off as a precaution on Saturday and if he does miss Barnet then I’m sure he will be fit for Plymouth but if Rod comes in and does well then he might have a job getting back in.
“I have talked about freshening the team up which I think is really important with the hectic run of games we are in.
“It’s Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday for us for the next few weeks but I’m confident with the group we’ve got that we are strong enough to get through this period.”
