Football League Youth Alliance action
Northampton Town’s youth team took on Southend United at Moulton College on Saturday morning in the Football League Youth Alliance.
Despite goals from Shaun McWilliams and Ethan Lamptey, the Cobblers were beaten 3-2.
“Southend are a strong side but I felt we deserved something from the game,” said under 18s coach Craig Hinton.
“The lads battled hard and it’s always disappointing when you don’t get the result your performance deserves.”
