The Cobblers boss on Northampton Town v Exeter City
Nicky Adams will be back in the Cobblers squad for Saturday’s game against Exeter City at Sixfields after missing the midweek Capital One Cup win against Blackpool.
“Nicky will be okay,” confirmed Cobblers boss Chris Wilder.
“He picked up a knock at Bristol Rovers and we left him out on Tuesday as more of a precaution but he trained on Thursday and he will be available.
“We had the ability to cover for Nicky on Tuesday but he’s been a big part of our pre-season, he’s a good player and he will come back into the group.
“The players we’ve bought in have done really well and I thought Sam and Dominic at the top of the pitch on Tuesday night were outstanding.
“There are still some players like Paul Corry and Rod McDonald who haven’t really been involved yet but we’ve got a lot of games this month, it’s a long hard season and they will play their part.
“We’ve got a tight group but in that we have got real good competition for places. You need that competition and with the group we’ve got we have the ability to freshen things up.”
