The Cobblers will be without the suspended Jason Taylor for the visit of Plymouth Argyle with the midfielder set to serve a one-match ban following his sending off against Barnet.
Ricky Holmes (back) could also be unavailable for selection.
“Ricky had a freak back spasm in the warm-up on Tuesday night,” confirmed boss Chris Wilder.
“It is no major concern but it will possibly make him unavailable for the weekend which is disappointing.
“Jason is a loss for us but we have to get over it and we will look at the different things we can do.
“Zander should train on Friday and should be fit for Saturday but Brendan Moloney and Evan Horwood are still a little way off and won’t be considered.”
