JASON TAYLOR AVAILABLE FOR NEWCASTLE UNITED TIE

25 August 2015

The team news ahead of Newcastle United v Northampton Town

Jason Taylor will come back into the Cobblers squad for Tuesday night’s Capital One Cup second round tie away at Newcastle United after serving a one-match ban.

The Cobblers will however be without Josh Lelan at St James Park as the defender serves a 1-match ban following his sending offagainst Plymouth.

Adam Yates is added to the squad after joining on a month's loan from Port Vale on Monday.

“We will pick a side to go and be competitive,” said boss Chris Wilder.

“The players' mentality has to be just focus on the next game, as a manager of course you do look a bit further ahead but we have to go full tilt at Newcastle.

“We can’t look ahead to Accrington on Saturday, our full focus has to be on Newcastle.

“It’s been a hectic start and it seems a bit ridiculous to me that we go from pre-season to playing 9 games in 27 days.

“We are in the same boat as everybody else and I understand that but it has meant we haven’t been able to do as much work on the training ground as we would have liked.

“There are things we need to tweak and work on but because of the amount of games we’ve had we’ve just had to talk things through with the players and hope they take it on board.”
