The Cobblers boss on Barnet v Northampton Town

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder previews Tuesday night’s trip to Barnet.

“Make no mistake this is going to be a really tough game for us,” he said.

“Barnet were unfortunate not to beat Wycombe on Saturday and I’m sure Martin won’t be enjoying the fact that they’ve played well in their opening two games and not got a result.

“I know Martin quite well and I’ve got a lot of respect for him and it was an outstanding achievement from Barnet last season to lead the division from start to finish.

“It’s going to be a physical game and they will be revved up and they will come after us.

“We have to make sure that we earn the right to play and control the football and we are going to have to work really hard and compete on every inch of the pitch to get a result.

“It’s been a great start for us, we are one goal off the top of the league, we’ve got a perfect record and we’ve kept three clean sheets which is a fantastic achievement.

“We know we are a threat going forward and that’s why on Saturday we were a bit disappointed that when we did break the play up in the second half we weren’t clinical enough on the counter attack.

“We know that there is room for improvement but we just have to keep working hard and keep our feet on the ground.”
