Academy updates from Barcelona
Despite being a scheduled 'leisure day' with the coaching staff asking for rest and relaxation, day two of the NTFC Academy U14 squad’s tour to Barcelona saw the boys do what they do best - playing various forms of the beautiful game.
The morning began with a walk along the sea front, which soon turned into searching for a suitable size area of sand to construct a beach football pitch! The next few hours flew by, with players, staff and even the odd pedestrian engrossed in the game which had its share of exciting, flamboyant and skilful moments!
After lunch it was an afternoon by the pool, where the boys got creative with sun loungers to create a head tennis court, which sparked the most intense 2v2 tournament Salou has ever seen! The forfeit for any team losing 5-0 (a dip in the very cold pool) certainly added drama to the competition!
Following dinner the boys each had an individual pre-match meeting with the coaching staff to discuss tactics and strategies for day one of the Barcelona Cup which kicks off on Saturday morning. The day sees us take on Peli-Karhut White (Finland) at 10:40am, Union Saint Giloise (Belgium) at 15:30 and FB Strikers (Saudi Arabia) at 18:00.
