The Cobblers boss on Northampton Town v Cambridge United
Cobblers boss Chris Wilder reflecting on Monday’s home defeat to Cambridge.
“The early goal gave Cambridge a real lift and it’s been a frustrating afternoon for us,” he said.
“The players left everything out on the pitch and I can’t ask any more of them but we just lacked that little bit of quality in the final third.
“We had enough of the ball, the tempo of the game was good and I was pleased with our play box to box but we just couldn’t find that final pass.
“The players are giving it absolutely everything and I can’t fault their character or attitude.
“We are all bitterly disappointed and there’s no hiding the fact that today has been a missed opportunity but we will go again at Stevenage.”
