The Cobblers boss ahead of Stevenage v Northampton Town
Cobblers boss Chris Wilder says that his side will need to perform at a high level to win Saturday’s game at Stevenage and keep their play off hopes alive.
“We need a big performance, we need a big result and we need everybody to contribute,” he said.
“Stevenage will be looking to knock us out of the race but we are more than capable of putting in a big performance and a win for us puts us back in the picture and suddenly everything changes again.
“We know it’s a tough game and we will have to play at a high level to get a result but we believe we can do that.
“We’re not dead and buried and a win for us on Saturday and we could find ourselves two points outside the play-offs with four games to go.
“We are relying on other results which is disappointing because we feel if we could have had a decent Easter then it would have been in our own hands but it isn’t and the only thing we can influence is our performance on Saturday.
“We need a day where we win and the other teams around us lose and we understand that but it can happen. We have to keep believing and go right to the end.”
