Defender Ben Tozer (knee) is back in training but John-Joe O’Toole (hamstring) remains a doubt for this Saturday’s trip to Stevenage.
“Ben trained on Thursday which is a big boost for us,” said boss Chris Wilder.
“John-Joe O'Toole we will assess and Marc Richards is a few more days further along with his rehabilitation. He won’t be ready for Saturday but who knows he could even be involved at Oxford on Tuesday.
“We’ve got some tired bodies after the Easter weekend and one or two players carrying little niggles but you get that at this stage of the season and the players just have to play through that.
“We haven’t got the biggest squad and maybe that’s something we can look at going forward to next season because we’d like to have a bit more energy coming off the bench.”
