ACADEMY UNDER 11S TOUR DIARY, DAY THREE

9 April 2015

Under 11 squad are in Barcelona, here is day three of their tour diary

This is the last report from Spain as tomorrow we fly back after an action packed day that the boys will not forget.

The day started with breakfast followed by a game vs Northern Irish team Moyola Park AFC. The boys played some excellent football and again showcased their talents well with some good individual play as well as some excellent passing football. Playing 2 games of 7v7 for 2 x 30 minute periods at the excellent venue at Futbol Salou, the game was played in a great spirit with our opposition providing the club with a momento to take away with us. We would like to thank Moyola Park and all their staff and players for the spirit in which the game was played.

Following the game it was down to our birthday boy, Harrison Lynham, to decide the day's adventures. Trampolining was top of the list which was roundly appreciated by many, and we found a few hidden talents with back flips and somersaults galore from a lot of the players. They also played some table tennis before they ultimately found a football and ended up playing a game with some French holiday makers, who were very enthusiastic about the players and their abilities!

The day culminated in a little trip to watch a local team play. Barcelona boasted some rather good players in their line up as the boys travelled to the Camp Nou to watch Barcelona take on Almeria. Messi, Xavi, Suarez and Dani Alves played and put on the show scoring some great goals in a 4-0 win, even though a couple of equally fantastic goals were ruled out. However the boys did come away with a new hero in Sergi Roberto who was excellent all night and could be another star from La Masia (which the bus drove past to add to the day!!). I think the boys were more than a little happy with their day and are now exhausted and in bed with a chilled day at the beach (or so the staff are hoping!) before we leave what has been an excellent trip for everyone involved.

We would like to again thank Julie and Tony from Club Activo for taking care of our every need and request whilst we have been at Cambrils Park.
