The views of the Cobblers boss on Northampton Town v Hartlepool United

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder was delighted with his side’s attacking display in Tuesday night’s 5-1 victory over Hartlepool United.

“We’ve had a really good night,” he said.

“I was really disappointed on Saturday as were the players and they knew they had to put it right.

“I got a great reaction from the players, we were a threat all evening and we had good quality going forward.

“We wanted to go and press the game and get after Hartlepool. I wanted a real positive front foot performance full of energy and I think I got that.

“We want to put teams under pressure here and go for the jugular. Our home form is really important and we want to be positive and put teams under real pressure when they come here.

“We have got players here that excite, I really enjoyed watching the team tonight and I hope the supporters enjoyed it. You have to enjoy nights like this and we will be looking to go into the game on Saturday against Accrington with the same intent.”
