In the season opener, with a number of players unavailable due to holidays, there was a slow start by an understrength Northampton Town Ladies who struggled to find their passing game.
30 minutes had been played before the Cobblers found the net with new signing Jessica Richards pouncing on a mistake from a Moulton defender. Once they settled there was only one winner and the impressive under 18's player Beth Hope followed up with a second goal ten minutes before half time.
The second half saw another three goals from Richards added to by another from Hope and a further strike from player of the match Danielle Snowden to see the Cobblers open with a comfortable 7-1 win.
